“The Watchers are a diptych. Individually they are The Watchers I and The Watchers II. The Watchers explore different types of watching and viewing the world. Animals have a necessity to watch and  observe their environment in a particular way that is more tied to their very survival than what is commonly the experience of people in modern society. The average person can afford a more vacant and less critical observation of their surroundings. These paintings  show the dichotomy of both worlds and perhaps offer a suggestion of a learning opportunity.”
