"Rock all Night" is a deeply reflective piece. It’s about what might have been. It is very nostalgic in terms of the unrealized dreams of youth and thinking back on those in a critical way as an adult. The rocking horse and the play pony are toys that childhood imagination animates to seem real. Often that realness is somewhat attached to a promise to oneself that by adulthood the horse will be a living one. Perhaps in that particular way it’s a moment of regret but there’s also the suggestion of a new generation on the horizon for the two figures. And with that, a new chance for hopes realized."
